Environment Co. urges public to personalize cleaning instead of relying on the City Council

The Adut Sabrin Trade and Investment Company has launched an environmental cleaning campaign in Juba to keep the city clean and promote healthy living.

The Managing Director of the company, Adut Aguek Mayol said Saturday, that the public should cooperate and clean up their surrounding environment.

“The society need to cooperate and clean up their environment. They should not say that it’s the responsibility of Juba City Council but they should take the responsibility and begin to clean up their surroundings,” Mayol said.

She said that after three days, they will go to the streets of Juba and the residential areas to advice the general public on proper hygiene management.

The event was graced by Senior Government officials such as the Presidential Spokesman, Ateny Wek Ateny, the Minister of Petroleum and Mining, Puot Kang among and Deputy Finance minster.

The officials commended the youths for their creative innovations and Adut Investment and Trading Company for organizing the event. They reaffirmed the government’s support towards youths and their projects that will create jobs and lead to the growth of the nation.

Agok Makur, the deputy minister of finance said keeping the city of Juba clean is the collective responsibility of the government and the citizens.

“Let people keep the environment clean. Through this environment, we get good health,” Makur said.

Samuel John Deng, a South Sudanese painter said exhibitions are very important to artists for they offer them with a platform to educate the society and raise awareness on keeping the environment clean.

He further thanked Adut Trading and Investment Company for rendering them the platform to educate and raise awareness on a clean environment.

The initiative is in partnership with Youth Union, Women Union, Juba City Council, Civil Society Organizations, Health Organizations under the supervision of the Central Equatoria State Governor, Emmanuel Adil Anthony and runs from 6th to 8th November 2020.

The cleaning campaign launched at Palm Africa Hotel shall be run under the theme, ‘Let’s come together and consolidate for healthy houses, your environment and public places in your town’.

“I applaud the Nile Commercial Bank and other partners for their support,” said Mayol.
