Help donate for stranded South Sudanese medical Students in Cuba.

“Let’s join our hands together irrespective of your tribal and political affiliation. We are all one. If one is suffering, it’s our role to come in and help. That’s the small and noble act of solidarity, nationalism and patriotism you can show. If you want to teach people to be helpful to the nation or to others, be helpful to them. I always believe; Together we Can.” Sallah Lasu, President of South Sudanese Students & Doctors in Cuba.

These students need the help of everyone who cares about humanity.

There are Four (4) South Sudanese medical Doctors that are stranded in Cuba with no tickets to return to the country. Some have a year now waiting for ticket from the ministry of higher education in vain. Initially, they were 7 doctors and one sick student. Three of the doctors managed to travel home and we carried a fundraising among ourselves as African Students and were joined by students from Caribbean, South & North Americas, Pacific and Asians countries, where each one contributed one dollar and we were able to raise 2,246 CUC ($2,000) Dollars.

With the help of Dr. Akuot Achol De Dut and Madam Marryanne Thiik, we launched a fundraising to help raise money for air tickets. She created a GoFundMe as suggested by many Cuba is under US sanctions therefore, GoFundMe can’t work.

We have resorted to a traditional method of collecting funds from willing individuals. See the Cashapp account of Dr. Akuot, US and details of Madam Marryanne, Canada below.

So far with the help of these great women we have secured two tickets, we need more support desperately.  The Shulluk community chairman in US Mr. William offered 900 USD and will make efforts to complete at least for a ticket. A ticket costs between 1,750 to 2000 USD depending on airlines and season.

The one ticket raised is a collective effort of many nationalists who at their hard times still pull out 50 or 100$ to help our doctors go back to help the nation.

“JF Kennedy once said: ‘Don’t spend your time worrying or complaining about what your country can do for you, worry about what you can do for your country.’ Let’s join our hands together irrespective of your tribal and political affiliation.
